Embroidery digitizing is the process of converting artwork into a machine-readable stitch file. It is not an automatic conversion — submitting a JPG, PNG or PDF to a software tool does not produce a usable result. Every motif must be rebuilt manually, stitch by stitch, with decisions made at each point of the design.
Effective machine embroidery digitizing requires precise control over stitch type, stitch direction, density, underlay, pull compensation, push compensation, trims, color changes, fabric type, thread behavior, design size and the specific limitations of the embroidery machine that will run the file..

Small Lettering and Detailed Embroidery Designs
Small lettering and intricate motifs are technically demanding. Below a certain size, standard fill stitches become unusable and running stitches must replace them. Column widths, letter spacing and stitch density all need to be manually adjusted for each font and size. This is one area where experience with actual production makes a visible difference in the final result.
Embroidery File Formats: DST, PES, EMB and Other Formats
The file format required depends on the embroidery machine and software used at the production stage. DST (Tajima) is the most widely accepted format across commercial machines. PES is used by Brother and several home and semi-professional models. EMB is the native Wilcom format and retains the full design data for future editing. Other common formats include EXP, JEF, HUS, SEW and ZSK. We deliver the format that matches your machine — simply provide the brand and model.

Embroidered patches and badges are produced separately and then attached to garments, bags or accessories by sewing, ironing or velcro. They are used by sports clubs, schools, corporate businesses, fashion brands, uniform suppliers and event organisers.
A well-produced embroidered badge requires a clean merrow border or flat edge, sufficient thread coverage across the design, and simplification of fine details that would not reproduce cleanly at badge size. Color contrast between design elements and background thread is essential for legibility. Thread selection — color accuracy, sheen and durability — directly affects the perceived quality of the finished badge.
Not every logo or artwork file arrives in a condition suitable for digitizing. Raster images with low resolution, complex gradients, drop shadows or very thin strokes often need to be corrected or rebuilt before the digitizing stage can begin.
Brodivers can handle artwork preparation as a separate step, including logo clean-up, vectorisation, artwork correction, simplification of complex designs, color separation, resizing and adaptation of artwork to embroidery constraints. This stage and the digitizing stage are distinct: preparing an artwork file does not produce the embroidery file — it prepares the artwork so that digitizing produces a better result.
Laser cutting is used within embroidery production to prepare fabric shapes for appliqué, cut patch bases, create decorative elements and produce consistent badge blanks. Manual cutting introduces variation in shape and edge quality that affects how the final embroidery sits on the garment. Laser-cut shapes are accurate, repeatable and clean-edged.
We use laser cutting as part of embroidery and textile production, for appliqué preparation, patch production and decorative fabric elements. It is not a standalone industrial cutting service.
